The Top Four Social Media Strategies That DO NOT Work, But Notaries Keep Doing Anyway

Tired of agonizing over what you’re supposed to post on social media for your mobile notary and loan signing business?

You are not alone!

Notaries all over the country struggle to create valuable blog or social media posts because it isn’t really crystal clear what we are supposed to be talking about. In fact, not very much about our business is ever crystal clear.

Still, in a relationship-based business, where your customers work with who they know, like, and trust, it is important that you give them as many chances as possible to:

Get to know you.

Maybe even like you.

And, certainly, start to trust you.

But short of cyber-stalking them and becoming “besties,” how do you do that? In today’s modern age, content marketing and social media are King. Influencers, service-providers, and experts, in any industry, share valuable content, inspiring messages, and needed information, via email and various social media platforms.

That’s how you...

My 2020 Primary Goal Buckets

I gave up on New Year's Resolutions long ago. These often just felt like pipe dreams for me, and those around me. It didn't take me long to realize that writing down a goal, or a dream (especially a materialistic one), and then tucking it into a drawer to be forgotten was not an effective method of creation.

Instead, I use a pretty complex system of vision statements, goal buckets, intentions, journals, calendars, and technology to keep my goals in the forefront of my mind every single day of the year. This has led to some extraordinary results. Sure, I've hit some epic goals, but more importantly, living life with intention and growth has helped me become someone I enjoy being around. And this has contributed to the constant, continuous, enjoyment of my primary aim in life, peace of mind.

What does peace of mind look like to me?

I think "peace of mind" conjures images of monastic passivity, where we checkout of a world full of worries and responsibilities...

The Reverse Mortgage Training Wrap-Up Call for 2019

Almost every Thursday morning, Nina Penny joins the Members of the Sign & Thrive Notary Training Course and Community for a 15-30 minute training call about Reverse Mortgages.

Nina is a loan officer with the special designation of Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional (CRMP), of which there are less than 150 throughout the country.

I thought I would share the recording of this week's call because it is shorter than most, and it really highlights the growth of this niche market.

It was nearly two years ago that Nina and I started creating the industry's first Certified Reverse Mortgage Signing Professional training and exam process to help notaries better prepare for these nuanced signing appointments.

The demographics for reverse mortgage are senior citizens, so it takes a special, caring heart, to handle these signings best. We love the signing agents we have attracted to the program!

On this week's call, Nina shares some exciting news about the potential of...

12 Books that Changed Me

As you likely know, I spent 12 days of this month giving away 16 or 17 Kindles as a way to celebrate our crossing of the 10,000 Youtube subscriber threshold.

Thank you for being a part of that!

On each official giveaway of the 12 Days of Knowledge, I offered a book recommendation. These are books that have touched, moved, and inspired me along my path.

Many of you have requested a full list of those books, so I have provided that for you below.

While I am a champion of reading and knowledge, I urge you to build the implementation of this knowledge into your daily schedule.

Wisdom without application is wasted.

Many of the books listed below helped me formulate the exact system I now teach in Sign & Thrive. In fact, if youd' like to see the exact Daily Do's I put into practice to help increase my revenue from $1,000 per month to $20,000 per month, download my checklist here. This is how I chose to implement my learning, and it...

Download 52 Topics for notary blogs and social media here

One of the most common topics I get in my mentoring sessions with notaries across the country is about social media and how to utilize it to get more customers.

Let's face it, social media is overwhelming! There are tons of considerations and things to think about.

I recommend you choose the platform that you are most comfortable with and just stick with that, for now.

I started with Facebook, then grew into LinkedIn, then Instagram, and Twitter. While I am on it, I still don't know how to use it effectively. And that's okay. Someday I may choose to learn that better, and you get that freedom too!

The reality is that Facebook is likely where most of your customers are hanging out anyway, so that may be the place to start. And Facebook owns Instagram, so they tend to play well together.

But, for most of us, having a social media platform isn't the problem. For most if us, we already have a...

Are We Over-Saturated with Mobile Notaries and Loan Signing Agents?

Hey everybody, this is Bill with www.NotaryCoach.com and the Sign and Thrive Notary Training Course and Community.

It is Monday, October 28th, the end of the month. It's totally - well - a little crazy today. I'm sure you're crazy too. So I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I have about 20 minutes before I leave for my next appointment, but I wanted to make sure that we stay consistent with our Monday messages here and today.

I was thinking that we should talk about the possibility of over-saturation. You know, the three tenants that I find most attractive about this business is that we have a flexible schedule. We get to reclaim our agenda, reclaim our lives, and work with who we want to work with! We get to spend time with who we enjoy spending time with.

We also get an opportunity to earn unlimited income, and it's kind of an old fashioned business, you know. As you work, you get paid,...

How I Lost THREE Major Notary Clients and the Lessons I learned From Them

Hey everybody, this is Bill Soroka, founder of NotaryCoach.com and the Sign and Thrive Course and Community.

You know, when I first started out as a mobile notary and loan signing agent, I really had no clue what I was doing.

I had no formal training.

I had no idea that the national notary association existed.

I didn't know there were signing companies. And back then there really wasn't a whole lot of training options anyway....

But even as I got started in this business, I really had one foot out the door already. I was a passionate serial entrepreneur, and I was trying to manage five or six different little ventures, startups at the time - none of which were making money. So when I got the opportunity to make 150 bucks an hour as a loan signing agent, obviously I jumped on it.

You know, I didn't have a college degree. I didn't think anybody would pay this kind of money for this. So when I got in, I treated this business like an ATM machine. I...

What's the Difference Between a Bond and E&O Insurance?

Hello everybody! It's Friday FAQ!

This is Bill Soroka, founder of NotaryCoach.com and the Sign and Thrive Notary Training Course and Community.

*Full Transcription Below*

Thank you for keeping up with all the great questions coming in. You know, you can always email questions to [email protected], or you can set up a Mentor call with me at NotaryCoach.com in the upper right hand corner. It's real easy to do. Just pick a time that works for you.

Today we're going to talk about what the difference between a Surety Bond (otherwise known as a Bond), and E&O Insurance, (otherwise known as Errors and Omissions Insurance). I get this question a lot, and there's a lot of confusion, especially if you're new to the industry. So let's just lay out the main differences, starting first with a Surety Bond.

Some States require that you have a Surety Bond to even become a Notary Public. But that's not required in all States, so it's important that we know that. It's still probably a good...

5-Steps to Claim Your Role as CEO of Your Mobile Notary and Loan Signing Business

Good morning, everybody!

You know, as Peter Griffin would say, "you know what really grinds my gears...?", Is when I hear people say "you're just a notary". What's worse is when I hear other notaries say "I'm just a notary", as if there is some power that they haven't stepped into where they're just giving it away. There is no such thing as "just a notary", guys. A notary public fills an essential role in fraud prevention. We're often the last line of defense in mortgage and identity theft. And a notary public can make or break a transaction.

This work matters.

And the responsibility of owning that is really on us. We have some stereotypes that we have to break through when it comes to misconceptions from the general public or even from people who utilize our services all the time. You know, we're coming out of an era where maybe the notary business wasn't taken as seriously as it could have or should have.

And that's where we are, it's an exciting time to be in this...
