Most mobile notaries I meet have something in common:
They’re multi-service and multi-talented.
In addition to notarization, they offer other services like:
But the challenge they have is talking about their services.
For one, it’s not always appropriate to discuss other services at the signing table, depending on our client agreements and relationships.
Second, most notaries are intimidated or afraid to even mention other services even if it would be helpful to their signers.
That’s the problem I’ve been working to solve with Linda Benningfield over the last few weeks, and we landed on something I think is going to change this industry in a pretty meaningful way.
Linda is a Canva template designer and I asked her to crawl inside my brain and extract this concept I had for a “leave-behind” brochure, or postcard for notaries to literally leave behind at each appointment.
It’s a large-format postcard, but calling it a postcard almost undersells it.
This is a business card on steroids.
At its core, it gives the signer everything they need:
But here’s where it gets interesting…
We built in space to highlight all the services you actually offer, the ones that dovetail perfectly with your notary work, but that you probably never mention aloud because it feels awkward or self-serving to do so.
Apostilles. Trust deliveries. Legacy Vault access. Certified translations. Mobile fingerprinting. Whatever you’ve built into your business that makes people’s lives easier.
The postcard does the introduction for you.
And then there’s the part I’m most excited about:
We added a receipt component.
This means the card isn’t just a marketing piece.
It becomes the record of services rendered.
It documents the transaction clearly for both you and the signer.
And psychologically, it turns the postcard into something they keep.
People throw away business cards.
They do not throw away receipts.
Often, receipts end up in one of three places:
Which means your name, your brand, and your full list of services sit in their environment long after you leave their home.
This is the Top of Mind Method in physical form.
Even better, it solves the cross-selling dilemma without ever asking notaries to become salespeople.
You don’t need a pitch.
You don’t need a script.
You don’t need to interrupt the flow of the appointment.
Sometimes, something relevant comes up naturally, like an upcoming move, estate planning questions, translation needs, fingerprinting for a new job. With this card, you can simply point, maybe even circle the item, and say, “When you’re ready, I can help with that too.”
No pressure.
No awkwardness.
Just service.
And the moment you circle something on that card, the signer remembers it. The card becomes meaningful. It goes from flat and informational to personal and relevant. That’s where the magic happens.
The bigger point here is that notaries shouldn’t have to rely on courage alone to grow their business. We should build tools and systems that make growth natural, easier, automatic, and embedded into the work we’re already doing.
This leave-behind postcard is one of those tools.
If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable promoting yourself…
Or if you’ve ever wished your clients remembered more of what you offer…
This solves both problems at once.
And when used appropriately, always honoring your agreements with hiring clients, this becomes one of the easiest, most integrity-based ways to stay top of mind and increase the number of people you can help.
It’s not just a postcard.
It’s a bridge.
It’s an ambassador of your services.
And it’s yours for free. Thanks to Linda at Notary Studio for her four postcard designs, we can offer these completely free inside of High Performance Notary on the Skool platform.
