The Sacred Weekend That Changed Everything: How I Went From Quitting On Myself to Building a $20,000-a-Month Notary Business

I quit this business more times than I can count.

Not just once.

Not even twice.

Honestly… so many times I lost track.

Every time things got slow, every time the phone stopped ringing, every time I felt overwhelmed or discouraged, I’d run straight back to the “safety” of a paycheck.

A w-2 job was predictable.

It felt comfortable, at least for a bit (I never lasted more than a few months).

And it let me avoid the truth I didn’t want to face:

I wasn’t doing the things I knew I needed to do to grow my business.

I wasn’t reaching out to prospects.

I wasn’t talking about my business.

I wasn’t following up.

I wasn’t being visible online.

I wasn’t staying consistent with networking.

I wasn’t implementing anything I was learning.

  • I was busy… but not productive.

  • I was active…but not strategic.

  • I was hopeful…but not honest.

Deep down, I wanted success… but I wanted it without all the work and the habits that create success.

And that disconnect led me into the darkest stretch of my notary career.

The Shame Spiral

There was a point where the phone didn’t just slow down, it completely died.

I was broke, behind on bills, waking up every morning with that pit-in-the-stomach dread you only feel when you know you’re failing yourself and people are starting to notice.

And the worst part was that I couldn’t blame anyone but me.

It wasn’t the market.

It wasn’t competition or “over-saturation.”

It wasn’t interest rates or algorithms.

And it certainly wasn’t “luck of the draw.”

It was me avoiding the uncomfortable actions I thought I could outsmart my way around.

That shame was heavy.

It chipped away at my confidence.

It made me question whether I was cut out for any of this.

“Maybe I’m just not meant to succeed.”

“Maybe everyone else has something I don’t.”

“Maybe I’m the exception… in all the wrong ways.”

It’s not the lack of clients that takes most notaries out.

It’s the erosion of belief.

I was right on that edge.

And then came Thanksgiving.

My Sacred Thanksgiving Weekend

Everyone else was laughing, eating, watching football. Meanwhile, my world felt like it was cracking apart.

Instead of joining the festivities, I stayed home alone with my laptop, my frustration, and a level of honesty I had been avoiding for years.

I stopped pretending.

I stopped sugarcoating.

I stopped trying to be “special” or an exception to rules that apply to everyone who succeeds.

For the first time, I asked myself:

“What if this isn’t about the business? What if this is about me?”

And the answer hit me harder than anything else:

Turns out, all I wanted was success, without the discipline.

Without the habits.

Without the consistency.

Without the boring-but-powerful actions that every successful entrepreneur embraces.

I wanted a magical notary fairy to bless my Google Business Profile and make the phone ring.

That fairy does not exist.

So that weekend, I made a decision that changed everything:

I took 100% ownership of my results.

  • No more excuses.

  • No more pretending I didn’t know what to do.

  • No more quitting on myself.

  • No more waiting for momentum.

I was going to create it.

That weekend became my Sacred Weekend, the spiritual reset that changed both my business and my identity.

The Rebuild: Starting With the Person, Not the Business

Once I made that decision, I knew I needed structure, just something stronger than motivation or hope.

So I built myself a morning routine with six simple practices I learned from The Miracle Morning (By Hal Elrod).

These were six things that helped me clear my head, ground myself, and, most importantly, start keeping promises to myself again.

It wasn’t about the tasks so much.

It was about rebuilding trust with myself.

I didn’t need a new strategy yet.

I needed to stop abandoning my own commitments.

Those six habits became the foundation that allowed me to rise again.

Once my head cleared, something clicked:

If daily habits could change me, daily habits could change my business.

That realization became the birth of what I now call:

The Daily Do’s.

Eight small, simple actions that put me in front of people who could hire me or refer me, every single day.

These weren’t complicated strategies.

They weren’t time-consuming.

They didn’t require talent, personality, or luck.

All they required was consistency.

And I chose consistency.

The 90-Day Explosion

Once I paired the Miracle Morning habits with the Daily Do’s, everything moved.

And not slowly.

Before this shift, I was scraping together $1,000 a month, mostly from one long-time client who kept me afloat.

But within 90 days, in the same city, same market, and being the same person, my income didn’t just grow…

It skyrocketed.

I crossed $20,000 a month, consistently.

Not because of a trick.

Not because the market changed.

Not because I got lucky.

Not because I found a secret no one else had.

But because I FINALLY aligned my actions with the success I said I wanted.

Every day, I got in front of:

  • People who needed my services.

  • People who could hire me.

  • People who could refer me.

  • People who were looking for someone exactly like me.

And the more I showed up, the more opportunities appeared.

Momentum isn’t magic, momentum is math.

It’s the compounding effect of small daily habits that keep you visible, relevant, and top of mind.

And here’s what most people misunderstand:

I didn’t stop doing the Daily Do’s once I was successful.

I kept them alive, because momentum is built daily… and lost daily.

That consistency is why my business kept growing.

And that consistency is the reason High Performance Notary exists today.

Why I Built High Performance Notary

HPN is not “another course.”

It’s not a content library.

It’s not a place where you passively watch videos while nothing changes in your real life.

It’s a structure.

A rhythm.

A community.

A strategy you implement daily.

A place where you don’t just learn, you build.

The with the VIP tier in HPN, I teach:

  • The High Performance Notary Action Plan

  • How to choose your annual revenue goal

  • How to pick the specialty that gets you there fastest

  • How to stop chasing random $60 appointments

  • How to go after $200–$400 appointments instead

  • How to map your sales process

  • How to know exactly what to do every day

And because over 1,300 notaries are on this journey with you, you’re surrounded by people who want to see you win.

That’s the difference.

That’s why it works.

That’s why it changes lives.
