And finally found what works
My name is Bill Soroka, and I am a serial entrepreneur...
Yeah, I've started probably 26 or 27 businesses since junior high.
I don't know yet whether or not I'm bragging about that or I'm ashamed by that, but I did it and I feel like it's it's in my blood.
I don't have any other option. In fact, I consider myself unemployable at this point.
I have a passion for starting businesses, and being in business, because I have this vision for the legacy and the impact that I'm going to leave in this world when I leave it.
And I 100% believe that I have to be in control of my time and my income in order to make that happen. In that journey, you name it and I have probably done it.
I've been a mortgage lender, or loan officer very briefly. I was a property manager, I started a jewelry business, a marketing and promotion company, a bartending company, I had a travel agency, a vacation rentals company, and poker league where players played for free at bars and restaurants, and even a liquor store partnership in Colorado.
And there's been a ton more than that!
What happened to me was that one of my former employees, that ended up leaving rather emotionally, said to me one day, " there's no such thing as a successful serial entrepreneur.""
That hit me really hard because that obviously went against my beliefs.
I believed I could do it. I believed that I could make multiple businesses work.
I started doing some major thinking about my life choices. At the same time I was running five or six of those businesses all at once, and they were starting to fail .
And, they were epically failing!
These were major businesses where I had families and friends that had invested a little bit of money and they were about to lose it and I felt bad.
I was feeling a lot of shame about that, so I started looking at what was going on what was missing.
I felt like I was smart enough to do this. I felt like I had the charisma to make it happen, the enthusiasm, and the belief in what I was doing to do it.
I was well supported. I always had friends and family that believed in me, even after 26 or 27 of these- uou'd think some of that faith when wain- but they they stood by me.
Still I had nothing to show for all of my efforts. I was spinning my wheels and I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere.
I was always starting a new business but never running a real business.
So, I started this whole journey, looking into what was going on.
I did a results inventory and I started looking at I what I wanted in life, and what I was actually getting in life, trying to find out what that direct connection was.
I did that over a four-day weekend. It was Thanksgiving weekend and I spent the entire weekend alone. I had a relationship that was crumbling, and all my businesses were crumbling, so I had some time.
I invested in myself, reading books, nerding out on YouTube videos, and Tedtalks, just trying to figure this thing out.
What I discovered was the difference between having all this knowledge in my head and actually implementing it in the real world.
The execution of that knowledge was what was missing on a consistent basis.
So what I learned was, GI Joe was right-knowledge IS half the battle. The second half of the battle is implementation and execution of that knowledge.
I started learning about habits and routines. I found out that I had resisted habits and routines my entire life because I thought they were for boring people.
But it turns out that the people who have life figured out, and enjoy, and get the most out of life, or are the ones that prioritize and have habits and routine that support those goals and their dreams.
So, I started implementing, doing daily, consistent action that just totally turned my life and business around.
One of those businesses that I was running was as a mobile notary loan signing agent.
I just used that business as an ATM machine to fund some of those other businesses. But this thing started taking off.
I found a system that worked and it started making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year doing something that most people believed you could not make any money at.
When I saw that, I started again systemizing it and I knew I could teach people this system.
I started studying how you could share this knowledge and this expertise and help people grow this type of business across the country.
Along that journey I discovered Kajabi, I discovered Brendon Burchard.
I discovered ways to tap into that expertise and outline a course, and get it presented.
I was intimidated though.
Number one, I didn't believe I was an expert at anything.
You know, I didn't think I had anything figured out. I had 27 failed businesses!
That's not something I wanted to get up and start a course about!
But, what I did find is a system that I can share. And I found a platform in kajabi that made it all possible.
Because one thing I did not learn in those 27 different businesses is how to build a website, or how to send email campaigns, or how to do anything technical at all.
I was really intimidated by the prospect of creating an online video course when I don't even know how to record a video.
I don't have anything but my cell phone. I did not have a YouTube channel. I didn't even know how to use keywords or any of that .
And to this day I have still yet to learn how to edit a video. I have never edited one of my videos, and now I've got a YouTube channel with thousands of fans.
I've got a thriving online course. all made possible through this all-in-one platform called, Kajabi
It's absolutely changed my life and now, in addition to making a substantial monthly income by having a subscription-based course, I also wake up everyday feeling this enormous joy and pride in being able to help small business people, that are just like me, start a thriving mobile notary loan signing business in all 50 states.
I get to watch them come alive, and that ties into the impact and the legacy that I dream about leaving every single day.
Kajabi made my 28th business not only possible, but easy to build for somebody like me.
